Policy brief: The EU emissions trading system

The new EU Commission is taking office and at the same time Mistra Carbon Exit is publishing a policy brief concerning the EU emissions trading system, the EU ETS.

Commission President Ursula von der Leyen’s Green New Deal proposals indicate what issues in EU climate policy will receive attention in the upcoming years. These issues include carbon leakage, inclusion of new sectors in the EU ETS and long-term ambition. In the following policy brief, Lars Zetterberg and Milan Elkerbout discuss these issues.
