Rapid and comprehensive action is needed to combat climate change. This applies not least to the Swedish industry.
At this webinar, researchers from IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute, Chalmers University of Technology, Luleå University of Technology and Growth Analysis present results from two closely related projects that have investigated the conditions for driving the climate transition in the steel value chain from ore to vehicles, and the challenges associated with the technology choices available to the steel industry in the green transition.
The analysis clarifies how a palette of several policy instruments and control systems is required to drive the green transition. The results show good conditions for realising the technology shifts announced by the Swedish iron and steel industry. Still, there are also challenges and uncertainties regarding the future economic and political conditions that must be addressed.
